I didn’t do much baking this past week. Sometimes I just can’t decide what I want to make (or eat). Finally, I made these cookies since I really wanted something sweet. I couldn’t come up with a better name than “simple sandwich cookies” because that’s just what they are – quite plain but still tasty, at least for me. I had a small jar of marmalade from our neighbor which worked perfectly here.

Remember how I told you that it’s getting warmer here? Scratch that. It’s been raining for two days pretty much non-stop and it’s cold. I want my warm weather back. It’s so gloomy and unpleasant outside, it puts me in a bad mood. Even making some chocolate chunk cookies didn’t help much.

I made my first ever gingerbread house! Yay! I’m so excited! It didn’t end up as pretty as I hoped, but it’s still cute. Next year I’ll make something better. I’ve been feeling pretty lazy this past week. It just happens sometimes (OK, it happens all the time), which is why I didn’t post anything. I made these cookies several days ago and finally here they are on the blog. I’ve made them before, however, this time I decided to make a small change. Up until now I’ve been using Turkish delight for the filling, but this time I decided to make them with blueberry jam. I have to say that I liked them more this way.

I have a really old-fashioned recipe for you. It’s from my mom’s notebook with recipes. These cookies pleasantly surprised me. I had my doubts, but they turned out much better than I expected. In fact, I ate pretty much all of them by myself. Just proves how good they are.
The best part? They are super easy to make.
